The Press and Journalist Act 2000
It provides for the licensing of journalists, sets qualifications, bodies that govern journalists and a disciplinary mechanism.
The Uganda Communication Act 2013
Sets up a regulatory body for the broadcast media that responsible for distribution of frequencies and the telecommunications services The regulatory body setts the broadcasting standards that have to adhered to by all broadcasters.
The Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Act 2005
It establishes UBC, its functions, powers and administration
The Access to information Act 2005
It provides the right to access information and prescribes classes of information to be received and the procedure of obtaining it.
These are rules or standards set up by the regulatory bodies in form Statutory Instruments for media.
CODE OF PRACTICE FOR BROADCASTING
It was developed by UCC. Its aim is to promote better standards of broadcasting and to guide broadcasters on the service they provide to the public.
